Why Should You Stay Rooted In Your Investment?

Over the years, investing has been compared to riding the waves or being on a roller coaster ride. However, at Providend, we believe that investing is more like gardening. As long as we stay rooted to the right portfolio, we will definitely reap the fruits of our labour over the long term.

Watch this short video as Christopher Tan, CEO of Providend, further explains why.

Hello everyone. Thank you for watching this video clip. We hope that through this way, we would be able to share some of our thinking and leave some food for thought and hopefully, make small impact to your financial and non-financial life.

Today, I’m welcoming you to our Providend’s Garden Room.

It is called our Garden Room because it looks like a garden. And you know, isn’t it true that investing is like gardening? As we plant the flowers, they go through the four seasons – Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall. And when Winter comes, the plants, the flowers, they shed their leaves and they go into hibernation. But, we know that as long as the roots are not severed, when Spring comes, the flowers, they will bloom again.

And in investing, it is like that, isn’t it?

We go through the four seasons of the investment market. But, as long as the root is not severed, and by that I mean as long as the world is growing its population, it drives demand. And that drives the earnings and the profitability of the collective companies that we invest in. When spring comes, and it will come, you would be able to reap the fruits of your labour.

And that is why at Providend, we guide, we coach, we educate our clients to help them stay invested, stay planted, through the four seasons of the investment market. So that when the time comes for them to need the money, they will have it.

Thank you very much for watching. I hope you have found this video to be helpful. And if it has, please help me share it with your friends.
