Cheng Chye Hsern
Head of Investment Team
Chye Hsern is the Head of Investment at Providend Ltd and has more than 20 years of experience as an investment management professional, in both public and private markets across the capital structure. He has invested in public equity markets, public fixed income, private credit and private equity at various stages in his career.
Chye Hsern started in 2005 at a hedge fund, as an equity analyst and trader. Subsequently in 2007 he joined Apollo Global Management, an alternative asset manager that now manages over $800 billion of assets, and was a member of the Asia ex Japan team that founded the Singapore office, and invested across Asia in public markets, private credit and PIPEs. In 2013 he joined Providend and has since been managing client portfolios for both retail and AI clients, allocating mainly to low cost EIP funds.
Chye Hsern graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies and International Studies.
In his free time, he enjoys tennis and skiing and has dabbled in baking occasionally.
